marjatta

In private collection. Originally I made video- and photograph art. Then I noticed I had started painting. "Marjatta" is the primary picture of my painting art. In the painting a woman is pushing a baby carriage with paint. Where did the name come from? Who on earth was she, I wondered. Later on I found out, that her name was found in Kalevala (the national epic of Finland), manifested in the epic. Marjatta gave symbolically (not physically) birth to a son, finding a male side of herself, becoming whole, enlightened. The message of Marjatta to us is becoming whole by spiritual growth.
