In the past 30 years, Cheong Jagerroos has lived and worked in numerous countries from Asia to Europe and Africa. Whether consciously or subconsciously, the unique experience of having lived in such culturally diverse places, namely; Hong Kong, Shanghai, France, Switzerland, Italy, Senegal and Finland has influenced her work greatly. Cheong Jagerroos has discovered that walking the line between the east and west, facing different cultures, can be both constructive and destructive, but always inspirational.
“I work with all perspectives and float with all possibilities along the creativity process. I become part of my artwork, my studio floor becomes a segment battleground, and the world around me becomes an assembling canvas. I believe in creativity is a healing process of the soul and I love this process. Along the creative path, I am surprised to perceive certain vitality that needed to be awakened constantly.” --- Canal Cheong Jagerroos
